Aqueous solution of a salt \((A)\) forms a dense white precipitate with \(\mathrm{BaCl}_{2}\) solution. The precipitate dissolves in dilute \(\mathrm{HCl}\) to produce a gas \((B)\) which decolourises acidified \(\mathrm{KMnO}_{4}\) solution.
