JEE Advanced · Physics · 12. Thermal Properties
A black body of temperature \(T\) is inside chamber of temperature \(T_0\). Now, the closed chamber is slightly opened to sun such that temperature of black body \((T)\) and chamber \(\left(T_0\right)\) remains constant.

- A Black body will absorb more radiation
- B Black body will absorb less radiation
- C Black body emit more energy
- D None of these
Answer & Solution
Correct Answer
(D) None of these
Step-by-step Solution

Consider an evacuated cylindrical chamber of height \(h\) having rigid conducting plates at the ends and an insulating curved surface as shown in the figure. A number of spherical balls made of a light weight and soft material and coated with a conducting material are placed on the bottom plate. The balls have a radius \(r \ll h\). Now a high voltage source \((HV)\) is connected across the conducting plates such that the bottom plate is at \(+V_{0}\) and the top plate at \(-V_{0} .\) Due to their conducting surface, the balls will get charged, will become equipotential with the plate and are repelled by it. The balls will eventually collide with the top plate, where the coefficient of restitution can be taken to be zero due to the soft nature of the material of the balls. The electric field in the chamber can be considered to be that of a parallel plate capacitor. Assume that there are no collisions between the balls and the interaction between them is negligible. Electrical resistance of certain materials, known as superconductors, changes abruptly from a non-zero value to zero as their temperature is lowered below a critical temperature \(T_C(0)\). An interesting property of superconductors is that their critical temperature becomes smaller than \(T_C(0)\) if they are placed in a magnetic field i.e., the critical temperature \(T_C(B)\) is a function of the magnetic field strength \(B\). The dependence of \(T_C(B)\) on \(B\) is shown in the figure.
Question :
A superconductor has \(T_C(0)=100 \mathrm{~K}\). When a magnetic field of \(7.5\) Tesla is applied, its \(T_C\) decreases to \(75 \mathrm{~K}\). For this material one can definitely say that when (Note : \(\mathrm{T}\) = Tesla)JEE Advanced 2010 Medium - Paragraph:

The circuit also contains two keys \(\mathrm{K}_1\) and \(\mathrm{K}_2\). Initially, both the keys are open and there is no charge on the capacitor. At an instant, key \(K_1\) is closed and immediately after this the current in \(R_0\) is found to be \(I_1\). After a long time, the current attains a steady state value \(I_2\). Thereafter, \(\mathrm{K}_2\) is closed and simultaneously \(\mathrm{K}_1\) is opened and the voltage across \(C_0\) oscillates with amplitude \(V_0\) and angular frequency \(\omega_0\).
