The correct statement(s) concerning the structures E, F and G is are

- A \(E, F\) and \(G\) are resonance structures
- B \(E, F\) and \(E, G\) are tautomers
- C \(F\) and \(G\) are geometrical isomers
- D \(F\) and \(G\) are diastereomers
Answer & Solution
Correct Answer
(B) \(E, F\) and \(E, G\) are tautomers
Step-by-step Solution
Detailed explanation
\(E\) and \(F\) possess different place of atoms, in addition to electron pair, can be isomers only and not the resonance structures. Geometrical isomers are stereoisomers but not enantiomers called diastereomers

- Paragraph :
A thermal power plant produces electric power of \(600 \mathrm{~kW}\) at \(4000 \mathrm{~V}\), which is to be transported to a place \(20 \mathrm{~km}\) away from the power plant for consumers' usage. It can be transported either directly with a cable of large current carrying capacity or by using a combination of step-up and step-down transformers at the two ends. The drawback of the direct transmission is the large energy dissipation. In the method using transformers, the dissipation is much smaller. In this method, a step-up transformer is used at the plant side so that the current is reduced to a smaller value. At the consumers' end, a step-down transformer is used to supply power to the consumers at the specified lower voltage. It is reasonable to assume that the power cable is purely resistive and the transformers are ideal with a power factor unity. All the currents and voltages mentioned are rms values.
Question :
In the method using the transformers, assume that the ratio of the number of turns in the primary to that in the secondary in the step-up transformer is \(1: 10\). If the power to the consumers has to be supplied at \(200 \mathrm{~V}\), the ratio of the number of turns in the primary to that in the secondary in the step-down transformer isJEE Advanced 2013 Medium - A soft plastic bottle, filled with water of density \(1 \mathrm{gm} / \mathrm{cc}\), carries an inverted glass test-tube with some air (ideal gas) trapped as shown in the figure. The test-tube has a mass of \(5 \mathrm{gm}\), and it is made of a thick glass of density \(2.5 \mathrm{gm} / \mathrm{cc}\). Initially the bottle is sealed at atmospheric pressure \(p_{0}=10^{5} \mathrm{~Pa}\) so that the volume of the trapped air is \(v_{0}=3.3 \mathrm{cc}\). When the bottle is squeezed from outside at constant temperature, the pressure inside rises and the volume of the trapped air reduces. It is found that the test tube begins to sink at pressure \(p_{0}+\Delta p\) without changing its orientation. At this pressure, the volume of the trapped air is \(v_{0}-\Delta v\).
Let \(\Delta v=X\) cc and \(\Delta p=Y \times 10^{3} \mathrm{~Pa}\).
