Match the complexes given in List-I with oxidation state and the type of complexes given in List-II
| List-I (Complex) | List-II (Oxidation state and type of complex) |
| (A) \(\left[ Co \left( NH _3\right)_6\right]^{3+}\) | (I) +2 and Inner orbital complex |
| (B) \(\left[ CoF _6\right]^{3-}\) | (II) +2 and Outer orbital complex |
| (C) \(\left[ NiCl _4\right]^{2-}\) | (III) +3 and Outer orbital complex |
| (D) \(\left[ Ni ( CN )_4\right]^{2-}\) | (IV) +3 and Inner orbital complex |
- A (A) - (III), (B) - (IV), (C) - (I), (D) - (II)
- B (A) - (IV), (B) - (III), (C) - (II), (D) - (I)
- C (A) - (II), (B) - (I), (C) - (IV), (D) - (III)
- D (A) - (I), (B) - (II), (C) - (III), (D) - (IV)
Answer & Solution
Correct Answer
(B) (A) - (IV), (B) - (III), (C) - (II), (D) - (I)
Step-by-step Solution
Detailed explanation
(A) \(\left[ Co \left( NH _3\right)_6\right]^{3+}\): Co oxidation state = +3. Co(III) is \(d^6\). \(\text{NH}_3\) is strong field, so electrons pair up (\(d^2sp^3\)). Inner orbital complex. Match: (IV). (B) \(\left[ CoF _6\right]^{3-}\): Co oxidation state = +3. Co(III) is…

Alcohols and phenol are formed when a hydrogen atom in a hydrocarbon, aliphatic and aromatic respectively, is replaced by \(\text{-OH}\) group. The substitution of a hydrogen atom in a hydrocarbon by an alkoxy or aryloxy group forms ethers. Alcohols and phenol consist of two part, an alkyl/aryl group and a hydroxyl group. The properties of alcohols and phenols are primarily due to the hydroxyl group. The nature of alkyl and aryl groups simply modify these properties. Alcohol react both as nucleophiles and electrophiles whereas in phenols, the reactions that take place on the aromatic ring are electrophilic subtitution reactions.

Carbohydrates are essential for both plants and animals. Some common examples of carbohydrates are glucose, fructose, sucrose, glycogen, cellulose and starch. They form a major portion of our food. Honey has been used for a long time as an instant source of energy in Ayurvedic medicine. Carbohydrates are used as storage molecules in both plants and animals. The cell wall of bacteria and plants is made of cellulose. We use cellulose in the form of wood for making furniture and as cotton fiber for clothing. They also provide raw material for textiles, paper, lacquers, and breweries. Carbohydrates are classified as Monosaccharides, Oligosaccharides and Polysaccharides on the basis of their behavior towards hydrolysis.
Monosaccharides cannot be hydrolyzed further to simpler units whereas oligosaccharides can yield 2-10 units of monosaccharides on hydrolysis. Polysaccharides, which are non-sugars yield a large number of monosaccharide units on hydrolysis.

Identify a component of starch from among the following.CUET 2025 Hard - p-block elements are placed in groups 13 to 18 of the periodic table. Group 15 is nitrogen family. Nitrogen makes various compounds like \(NH _3, HNO _3, N_2 O , NO _2\) etc. Phosphorus exists in the form of white and red phosphorus. White phosphorus glows in dark. \(PH _3\) gas is used as smoke screen. Group 16 is called oxygen family. Dry air contains \(21\% O _2\) gas by volume. Combined sulphur exists as sulphates such as gypsum, epsome salt, baryte etc. The allotropic forms of sulphur are Rhombic and monoclinic sulphur. \(S_2\) is paramagnetic like \(O_2\) and it stable at high temperature.
Group 17 is Halogen family. \(F_2\) is highly reactive, \(C l_2\) is greenish yellow gas. Both \(S O_2\) and \(C l_2\) are used for bleaching. Group 18 is Noble gas family but some noble gases also form compounds.
Complete hydrolysis of \(XeF _6\) gives HF and \(XeO _3\) as main products.
