The osmotic pressure is one of the four colligative properties which depends on the number of particles of solute in the solution, irrespective of their nature. The osmotic pressure is equal to the product of concentration, gas constant and temperature. It is the most commonly used property for the determination of the molar mass of biomolecules. In many situations, the molecules get dissociated or associated when they are dissolved in a solvent, thereby changing the number of molecules in the solution. As a result, an abnormal molecular mass is obtained. The extent of dissociation or association is given by van't Hoff factor (i), which is the ratio of normal molar mass to abnormal molar mass. It is related with the degree of association or ionization. The introduction of van't Hoff factor in the osmotic pressure equation modifies the equation.

- Read the following passage carefully and answer the given questions.
Some strains of Bacillus thuringiensis produce proteins that kill certain insects such as lepidopterans (tobacco budworm, armyworm), coleopterans (beetles) and dipterans (flies, mosquitoes). B. thuringiensis forms protein crystals during a particular phase of their growth. Transgenic animals that produce useful biological products can be created by the introduction of the portion of DNA (or genes) which codes for a particular product such as human protein (a-1-antitrypsin) used to treat emphysema. In 1997, the first transgenic cow, Rosie, produced human protein-enriched milk (2.4 grams per litre). The milk contained the human alpha-lactalbumin and was nutritionally a more balanced product for human babies than natural cow-milk. A nematode Meloidegyne incognitia infects the roots of tobacco plants and causes a great reduction in yield. A novel strategy was adopted to prevent this infestation which was based on the process of RNA interference (RNAi). This method involves silencing of a specific mRNA due to a complementary dsRNA molecule that binds to and prevents translation of the mRNA (silencing). Biopiracy is the term used to refer to the use of bio-resources by multinational companies and other organisations without proper authorisation from the countries and people concerned without compensatory payment. ELISA is based on the principle of antigen-antibody interaction. Infection by pathogen can be detected by the presence of antigens (proteins, glycoproteins, etc.) or by detecting the antibodies synthesised against the pathogen.
Some strains of Bacillus thuringiensis produce proteins that do not kill certain arthropods, such as:CUET 2025 Medium - Answer the question on basis of passage given below :
P block elements are placed in groups 13 to 18 of the periodic table. Their valence shell electronic configuration is \(ns^2 np^{1-6}\). Group 16 of the p block elements are known as the group of chalcogens having \(ns^2 np^4\) as their general electronic configuration. They exhibit number of oxidation states but the stability of \(- 2\) oxidation state decreases down the group. They are sometimes also known as group of chalcogens as the name is derived from the Greek word for brass and points to the association of sulphur and its congeners with copper. Their ionisation enthalpy decreases down the group. Oxygen shows anomalous behaviour due to its small size and high electronegativity.
