As aldehydes ketones possess the carbonyl functional group, they show similar reaction They exhibit nucleophilic addition reactions, reduction, oxidations, reactions due to alpha-Hydrogen atom, and many other reactions, like Cannizzaro reaction to electrophilic substitution reactions (in case of aromatic aldehydes ketones).
