2.5 g of the following substances are dissolved in 500 mL of water. Arrange the resultant solutions in increasing order of their molarity ;
(A) \(C _6 H _{12} O _6\left(180 g mol ^{-1}\right)\)
(B) \(NH _2 CONH _2\left(60 g mol ^{-1}\right)\)
(C) \(NaCl \left(58.5 g mol ^{-1}\right)\)
(D) \(MgSO _4\left(120 g mol ^{-1}\right)\)
Choose the correct order from the options given below :
- A (A), (B), (C), (D)
- B (C), (B), (D), (A)
- C (A), (D), (B), (C)
- D (B), (C), (D), (A)
Answer & Solution
Correct Answer
(C) (A), (D), (B), (C)
Step-by-step Solution
Detailed explanation
\(M = \frac{\text{mass}}{M_w \times V}\) \(V = 500 \text{ mL} = 0.5 \text{ L}\) \(M_A = \frac{2.5 \text{ g}}{180 \text{ g mol}^{-1} \times 0.5 \text{ L}} = 0.0277 \text{ M}\) \(M_B = \frac{2.5 \text{ g}}{60 \text{ g mol}^{-1} \times 0.5 \text{ L}} = 0.0833 \text{ M}\)…

The speed at which a chemical reaction takes place is called the rate of reaction. The rate of reaction depends on various factors like concentration of the reactants, temperature, etc. The relation between the rate of reaction and the concentration of reacting species is represented by the equation r = k[A]x[B]y, where x and y are the order of the reaction with respect to the reactants A and B, respectively. The overall order of the reaction is x + y. The rate of reaction can also be increased by the use of a catalyst which provides an alternate pathway of lower activation energy. It increases the rate of forward and backward reaction to an equal extent. It does not alter the Gibbs energy of the reaction.
If the rate of reaction becomes twenty-seven times upon increasing the concentration of reactant by three times, the order of this reaction isCUET 2025 Hard - The value of conductivity of some selected materials at 298.15 K is given below. From the value
