Recombinant DNA Technology
Asexual reproduction preserves the genetic information, while sexual reproduction permits variation. Traditional hybridization procedures used in plants and animals breeding very often lead to inclusion and multiplication of undesirable genes along with the desired genes. The techniques of genetic engineering, which include creation of recombinant DNA, use of gene cloning and gene transfer, overcome this limitation and allow us to isolate and introduce only one or a set of desirable genes without introducing genes into the target organism.

Molecular nitrogen is very little reactive chemically. During lightning discharge, atmospheric nitrogen and oxygen combines to form nitric oxide which also combines with oxygen to form nitrogen dioxide. The term vitamin was coined from the word vital +amine since the earlier identified compounds had amino groups. Later work showed that most of them didn't contain amino groups. They are very essential for the body. They has to be taken various diet or in the form of medicines also.
Vitamins are classified into two groups depending upon their solubility in water or fat.
Fat soluble vitamins are soluble in fat and oils but insoluble in water. They are stored in liver and adipose (fat storing) tissues Water-soluble vitamins are soluble in water. These must be supplied regularly in diet because they are readily excreted in urine and cannot be stored in our body.
